The East of England Showground has experienced an unprecedented rise in bookings for larger scale events.

The news comes in the wake of the venue announcing expansion plans, as reported in EVENTS:review in June, suggesting the area is in need of larger-scale events facilities.

“Revealing our expansion plans has certainly had a positive knock-on effect,” said the venue’s conference coordinator Nicci Walker. “There has been a substantial rise in bookings of larger events over the past few months as event organisers are beginning to realise just what facilities the showground has to offer.”

The development project, which is due to commence October 2006, will see the construction of a clear span Exhibition Centre and Atrium, covering 5,583m2, which will give a total covered exhibition area of over 14,000m2 when linked to existing facilities. Coupled with over 125 acres of outdoor space, the expansion will enable the East of England Showground to hold a broad range of events, both indoors or out.
