A new service set up by Paragon Live Event Agency provides companies with the option to stage more environmentally responsible events.

OnePlanet Sustainable Event Solutions offers a number of services, including:
  • Sourcing venues and suppliers with proven eco-credentials.
  • Ideas for alternative methods of travel and CO2 offsetting.
  • Increasing energy efficiency and waste reduction (around 20% of waste produced in the UK is packaging – that’s 4.5 million tonnes a year).
  • The use of reusable and recyclable materials in stage/set design, build and theming.

Through OnePlanet, Paragon also offers opportunities to integrate the support of interesting local and global projects into an event, for example creating a team/motivation programme benefiting an eco-project, or by funding and legacy initiatives for new projects.

“A totally green event may be the ideal”, said Jacqui Loftus (pictured below), Paragon managing director, “but we realise that many clients will simply want to take a first step and choose from a range of recommendations. They can opt for one, some, or all.  And that’s OK in our view, as even adopting one measure is better than none and the client that adopts one in a first event will hopefully recognise the benefit and include more in subsequent events.”

January will be Green Month on EVENTS:review, where we will tackle the issue of the environment and how it impacts on all sides of the live and experiential marketing industry.
