One again it’s time for events’ industry’s annual charity cricket bash, Sticky Wicket. This year the seven aside competition will be taking place on 30 July 2008 at Regents Park. Play starts at 10am and will finish with a final at 6.30pm.

This year the teams are: ECO, CMPi, Excel, Reed Exhibitions, Gallowglass, Spaceworks, Early Action Group and Melville Group. Everyone is invited to come and watch for free!

A fun day out for all the family

There will be a fantastic raffle on the day, with prizes including: nne nights' accommodation for two people at The Cumberland Hotel (including breakfast) Donated by Chris Winn; two tickets to Gordon Ramsey presents A Taste of Christmas with VIP package donated by Brand Events; two tickets for Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall Cooks Christmas Dinner at The World Famous River Cottage on 2 December donated by Channel 4; and a weekend hotel break in the UK donated by Venuefinder.com.

“Last year’s event was a real success, despite the weather,” said EC&O Venues’ Jeremy Rees. “Some £21,000 was donated to The Lords Taverners on the day, with Andrew Evans hit for six by Trevor Foley. Plenty of hamstrings twanged, catches were dropped and Pimms was consumed. And it went down to the wire with Reed Exhibitions beating ECO Venues in the last over of the competition.”

Rees continued: “Melville are sponsoring 'Zero the Duck' this year who will be leading anyone off the pitch that doesn't score a run.”

Sticky Wicket offers a fabulous opportunity for everyone in the events industry to take some time out to enjoy the sunshine and network with fellow industry colleagues at the Hub in Regents Park.
