Discovery Museum in Newcastle is managed by North East Museums on behalf of Newcastle City Council. It is a five-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station.
Conference and meeting spaces
It lists the Great Hall, built in 1899 as a meeting space for the Co-operative Wholesale Society, at 300 theatre style, though the hall is not available for bookings until Spring 2027 because of roof restoration. Other spaces include the Turbinia Gallery, which holds 150 for a standing reception, and the Carpathia, Mauretania and Northumbria meeting rooms, which have AV facilities and Wi-Fi.
Catering is provided in house, with preferred suppliers for larger events or hot food. External catering is not allowed. All venues are fully licensed, and it says the museum is fully accessible.
