You get one technical supplier for staging, sound, lighting, LED screens, projection, live streaming and the logistics of moving it all, so you are not coordinating separate AV, set and streaming firms for a conference or launch. Indigo Splash says its own engineers deliver, install, operate and de-rig the kit, and it covers Brighton, London and the South East, travelling further for client events. It also designs and installs permanent AV for meeting rooms and public spaces.

Services

  • Event design and 3D pre-visualisation
  • Technical production: staging, audio, lighting, projection, LED screens and video walls
  • Production management
  • Live, hybrid and virtual events and live streaming
  • Event videography
  • AV hire with or without engineers
  • Event logistics
  • AV installation

You can hand over the technical side of an event from first drawings to load-out. The company groups its work as follows.

  • Event design and pre-visualisation: an in-house design team that builds CAD and 3D rendered visuals of the set before anything is made, plus branded graphics and scenic elements.
  • Technical production: staging, event audio, lighting, projection, LED screens and video walls, digital signage and lecterns, with production management on the day.
  • Live, hybrid and virtual events: multi-camera live streaming, event videography, broadcast studio set-ups, remote guest links and links to Zoom or Teams.
  • AV hire: equipment rental with or without its engineers; it says most clients take the crew so the kit is run for them.
  • Logistics: delivery, rigging and removal of equipment and set.
  • AV installation: conference room systems, video conferencing, digital signage, sound systems, touchscreens and acoustic panels.

For large conferences or complex shows it recommends booking at least four to six weeks ahead, though it says it can take urgent work.

Sectors and clients

If your organisation is a charity, church, school or healthcare body rather than a corporate brand, the company has dedicated sector pages for you. It lists charities, churches and places of worship, corporate, education, healthcare, hospitality, museums and retail. Event types it names include award ceremonies, conferences, product launches, exhibitions, roadshows, fashion shows, fundraising events and healthcare events. Clients it names on its site include New Balance, Specsavers and Lexus.

Recent work

You can judge how it handles access, sustainability and broadcast briefs from these projects on its site.

  • Diversity and Ability conference: for the social enterprise’s conference at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, it supplied height adjustable lecterns, stage ramps for wheelchair users, hearing loops, a lit stage and camera relay for a BSL interpreter, live captions on screens and phones, and a live stream for remote delegates.
  • ForgeRock stand at ExCeL London: a booth built from sustainably sourced wood with reusable wooden flooring in place of carpet, live plants and AV built into the walls. The company says the furniture was all donated to local charities afterwards and most of the rest was stored, recycled or donated.
  • Specsavers management meeting: working with production company Chimera, it ran a temporary broadcast studio with four cameras, teleprompters, a green screen area and a remote link to a Guernsey studio, streamed in full HD to managers across the UK and Channel Islands.
  • Lexus LC launch: for Jemca Lexus Edgware it turned a car showroom into a Hollywood-themed launch with a stage, a PA across two floors, searchlights and a fog and lighting reveal under a silk drape.

What to ask before you appoint them

  • Which of the engineers on your show will be in-house and which freelance, and who leads on site?
  • Will you see 3D pre-visualisations before sign-off, and how many rounds of revisions are included?
  • If your venue has in-house AV, as the IET Savoy did for ForgeRock, which parts will they supply and which will the venue?
  • For a hybrid event, which streaming platform, captioning service and backup connection do they propose?
  • If you need access support, can they price ramps, hearing loops, captioning and an interpreter position as they did for Diversity and Ability?
  • For events outside Brighton, London and the South East, how are travel and crew accommodation charged?
