You can run a plenary for 354 in a former IMAX auditorium, put catering and exhibition stands on the Platform level directly above it, and send delegates to breakouts on the same site, all a short walk from Moor Street, New Street and Snow Hill stations. The venue also says profits from its events business go to the Millennium Point Charitable Trust, which funds science, technology, engineering and maths education in the region, so your hire fee supports that work. Millennium Point stands on Curzon Street in Eastside, opposite the HS2 Curzon Street site, and also houses Thinktank and Birmingham City University.

Event spaces and capacities

You can choose from 18 spaces across four levels, from a 9-person workroom to the 420 m² Atrium, which takes up to 500 standing or 350 for a banquet from January to October, and fewer in November and December. For a seated conference the Auditorium is the largest room at 354 theatre style, and the Atrium and Concourse (250 m²) give you public, high-footfall space for 50 and 30 exhibition stands. Hire starts at £150 + VAT for Junction and £2,500 + VAT for the Auditorium, as listed on each space page.

Capacities as published by the venue on its 2026 capacities sheet and its space pages, checked 5 November 2026. Atrium figures are for January to October. Intercity, Junction and Ingress show the venue’s single “up to” figure (40, 9 and 200), which is not tied to a layout.

Getting there and parking

Your delegates can arrive by train without a taxi transfer. The venue names Moor Street and New Street as its nearest stations and says Snow Hill is within walking distance, with the main shopping streets about ten minutes away on foot. Buses 14, 55/55A, 90 and 94 stop near the Jennens Road entrance, and the venue says the Midland Metro is on its doorstep. For guests flying in, it suggests the train from Birmingham International.

Drivers use the M6, M5 or M42 and follow signs from the A4540 Ring Road. Parking is in the Birmingham City Council multi-storey next door, entered from Curzon Street (sat-nav postcode B4 7AP). It has a 2.1m height limit, which matters for vans bringing stands or a vehicle for the Atrium, and the venue quotes charges from £3.30 for up to 2 hours to £11.50 for up to 24 hours. Blue Badge holders park free with no time limit, and if you call before the event, staff will help guests from their car to the venue.

Catering, AV and accommodation

You get catering, AV and streaming from one team. Food comes from the venue’s own menu, with prices valid until 31 March 2027 plus VAT. Items start at £3.50 per person for breakfast and £2.50 per person for Fairtrade tea and coffee, and dietary needs and allergies are covered with advance notice. The Auditorium comes with an AV technician as standard, a 30 m² stage, a giant screen, a 40-channel digital mixing desk, LED lighting and remotely controlled cameras. The venue’s hybrid package streams in 1080p on Vimeo, password protected, using three remote cameras and a vision mixer.

Platform has a built-in bar, links to the Auditorium by lift as well as a twin staircase, and opens onto the outdoor Ingress space for breaks or stalls. Station and Express each pair a main room with smaller boardrooms you can use as green rooms or offices. The venue lists no bedrooms. Its 2024 brochure says it holds Greengage ECOsmart and Green Tourism accreditation, and its sustainability page reports that none of the 47,200 kg of waste collected over six months went to landfill.

What to ask before you book

  • The Atrium and Concourse are public areas between the Thinktank and Birmingham City University entrances. Ask what screening or privacy you get there if your exhibition or reception is not open to the public.
  • The Atrium drops from 500 to 350 standing in November and December. If you are planning a Christmas event, confirm the figure for your date.
  • The Auditorium page gives the screen as both 14m x 8m and 16m x 10m. Get the exact image size and projector spec before you build content for it.
  • The car park is run by the council, not the venue, and has a 2.1m height limit. Ask where higher vehicles unload and whether organiser spaces can be reserved.
  • Hire prices are “from” figures, quoted per half day or per session for some rooms. Ask for a full quote covering set-up time, AV and the hybrid package.
  • No current-year day delegate rate is posted. Ask for this year’s packages and their minimum numbers.
