You can run a conference for up to 250 people theatre style, a 200-cover dinner and your breakout meetings under one roof, about ten minutes on foot from Bournemouth railway station, and put delegates up overnight in the same building. The venue publishes its room-hire rates and a day delegate rate, so you can price a first budget before you send a brief. The Royal Bath Hotel opened in 1838 as Bournemouth’s first hotel, the venue says, and sits on the East Cliff on Bath Road with two acres of gardens beside the seafront. It belongs to The Elite Venue Selection hotel group.
Event spaces and capacities
You have seven bookable spaces, from a 35-guest lounge to the first-floor King’s Hall, a 330 m² former ballroom with arched ceilings, a stage, a balcony bar and three-phase power. King’s Hall takes 400 for an informal standing event, 350 for an exhibition layout, 250 theatre style and 200 at rounds of ten. The Mezzanine and Bay View suites work as breakout rooms, and the Bay View Suite on the second floor overlooks the bay and the gardens.

Capacities as published by the venue in its conference and events brochure, checked 5 November 2026. Reception means the brochure’s informal layout. Boardroom layouts are 25 in the Mezzanine Suite, 20 in the Bay View Suite and 10 in the Disraeli Suite, and U-shapes run from 16 to 26. Room hire on a day basis starts at £600 for King’s Hall, £300 for the Mezzanine, Bay View and Gladstone spaces and £200 for the Disraeli Suite and Lounge 1838, with prices dated November 2025.
Getting there and parking
Delegates arriving by train walk about ten minutes from Bournemouth station, according to the brochure, and the hotel points to local bus and taxi links. The hotel offers on-site parking for its guests, with charges applying. The King’s Hall floor plan shows a fire exit leading to the garage and a loading bay, which helps if you are bringing in staging or exhibition stands. The venue does not publish airport, motorway or EV charging details, so ask if you need them.
Catering, AV and accommodation
You can book one package that covers the room, refreshments and lunch. The day delegate package, from £32.95 per person including VAT, covers up to eight hours of room hire, three tea and coffee breaks, a hot and cold working lunch, projector and screen, pads and pens, and Wi-Fi for up to three people. The 24-hour package adds a three-course buffet dinner and bed and breakfast, priced on request. Catering is by the hotel’s own kitchen, with a wrap and finger buffet sample menu and extras such as arrival drinks from £7.95 a head. The hotel has 208 bedrooms and a leisure club with an indoor pool, gym, sauna and steam room, which day delegates can use for an extra charge. Oscar’s Restaurant, named after former guest Oscar Wilde, can be taken for private dinners.
What to ask before you book
- The brochure lists King’s Hall, the Mezzanine Suite and the Bay View Suite without disabled access, while Oscar’s, the Gladstone Bar, the Disraeli Suite and Lounge 1838 have it. Ask how wheelchair users reach the first and second floors.
- King’s Hall is listed as 250 theatre style in the capacity chart but up to 400 theatre style in its room description. Confirm the seated figure for your layout in writing.
- Only Oscar’s, the Gladstone Bar and Lounge 1838 are marked with air conditioning in the chart. Ask about cooling in King’s Hall for a summer event.
- Wi-Fi in the day package covers three people. Check what full delegate access costs.
- Seventeen of the Double City bedrooms have no windows, the hotel says. Ask which rooms your delegates will get.
- The brochure prices date from November 2025 and the hotel says it negotiates on all prices, so ask for a current quote.
